Are the Geek Bar Meloso 600 disposable vapes as 'smooth and mellow' as their Spanish name suggests?
GeekVape are a popular worldwide vape brand known primarily for their high-quality vaping devices and accessories. Established in 2015, they quickly gained recognition for innovative design, durability, and exceptional performance and are now one of the foremost brands in the industry.
Initially, their target market was the more advanced vaper who appreciated the advanced technology in their RTAs, sub-ohm tanks, high-powered vape mods and intricate coils. However, over time, research led them into the MTL (mouth-to-lung) vape market and, from there on, a clever decision to launch a range of disposable vapes for beginners. This range went on to become one of the most popular disposables in the world.
The Geek Bar disposable came to market in 2020 as a convenient, portable, user-friendly way to vape. Alongside the Elf Bar 600, it quickly became the most well-known and highly regarded disposable vape ranges internationally and dominated the market for some time.
Following this success, subsequent Geek Bar disposable ranges launched in the UK, including the Geek Bar E600 with a transverse heating coil, the Geek Bar C600 with a mesh coil and the rechargeable Geek Bar J1 pod kit, which houses prefilled, disposable e-liquid pods doubling up as the mouthpiece.
The Geek Bar Meloso 600, with its brand new VPU dual coil and the forthcoming (at the time of writing) matchbox-sized Geek Bar Meloso Mini, are the very latest products in their portfolio.
The Device
The Geek Bar Meloso 600 honours the original Geek Bar in both the shape of the device (although slightly daintier than its predecessor) and the flavour options available, but the muted colour scheme and device appearance is fresh and new - much prettier and with a summery vibe.
I do wonder if the colour scheme will limit the potential market reach of this range? Feminine colours are used across all packaging, devices and their metallic bases. Even the blue tones used are a baby blue blended into, quite often, a pastel pink. Masculine in design, these certainly are not, and my (masculine) friend commented on how feminine these felt in his hand whilst vaping in public, so they were not his thing. If a more feminine design appeals to you, though, these are perfect.
When opening, I noticed the packaging of the outer boxes are made from flimsy cardboard, and the tear strips did not work at all. Although these boxes can go straight into the green bin for recycling, not one survived the unboxing process. It was quite a mess!
Each Meloso is stored in a Geek Bar branded and sealed wrapper. These individual wrappers have no obvious tear strip or nick to get into them but do keep the devices clean and secure until you need them.
The device itself feels very lightweight in your hand, made from just two parts; the shiny seamless outer is two-tone pastel-coloured plastic (based on flavour profile) and has a matching coloured metallic base. This is a nice touch and allows the device to stand upright firmly.
Testing
The device is powered by a 500 mAh battery and is prefilled with 2ml of Geek Bar e-liquid, promising to last up to the standard 600 puffs expected in disposables these days. For the inner workings, Geek Bar suggest that this vape's exciting feature is their new VPU (Vaping Processing Unit) coil, which will deliver exceptional performance.
Whether this new VPU technology is to thank or not, the vape experience is enjoyable. The airflow and draw are smooth, not too tight, and the vapour produced is impressive compared to alternative brands. Each Meloso I tested lasted for at least 600 puffs - well over a day - and only one ran out of e-liquid before the battery expired (which was unpleasant). 'Meloso' means sweet or mellow in Spanish, and it truthfully describes this range.
From a taste perspective, there is a lingering sweetness from all the Meloso flavours. Cola ice was the most punchy, and Geek Juice stood out as different to the usual familiar options (I thought it tasted like Orange Squash with a hint of Cherry).
The flavours are still very recognisable as being from the Geek Bar recipe book. Given the considerable base of ever-loyal customers, this is a good thing. They are sweet, some slightly artificial and a bit dilute, but they can still be considered mellow and refreshing.

Tried it and wasn’t fussed. Just not for me
Definitely a smoother more subtle flavour than some other brands I’ve tried. I really love the Geek Juice.
Great reviews, I love the colours. Great 2 tone effect. I Am eagerly waiting for my Geek Juice to be delivered.
I’d been thinking about getting some Geek Meloso’s so this is really useful. Thank you for all the hard work Vapourcore
