What is an E-Liquid?

E-liquid is the fluid you put in vape kits that vapourises into your chosen flavour. The e-liquid is heated by your device's vape coil and then turns into vapour, which you inhale. The flavour profiles of different e-liquids vary, ranging from notes of tobacco to delicious sweets and desserts.

What is a Nic Salt E-Liquid?

Many vapers prefer nic salt e-liquid as it offers a smoother vaping experience. Nic salts use a different form of nicotine that is less harsh on the throat, even at higher strengths. Some traditional liquids can offer a slightly overwhelming throat hit based on their strength, and so, if you aren't previously a smoker, you may prefer nic salt e-liquid as they tend to offer a smoother hit.

What is a Freebase E-Liquid?

Freebase nicotine is the traditional form used in most vape juices, especially in the classic 10ml bottles. The main difference between this and nic salt e-liquid is the throat hit. E-liquid flavours that are freebase give you a more noticeable hit, giving you a punchy sensation at the back of the throat once inhaled. These e-liquids more closely resemble the feeling of smoking than their nic-salt counterparts.

What is a Shortfill E-Liquid?

Most vapers use shortfill e-liquid for convenience. It gives them more control over what they vape and is more cost-effective. A shortfill is a large bottle of nicotine-free e-liquid that deliberately isn't filled to the top. This is so you can add your own nicotine shot - this is the best way for experienced vapers or vapers with more powerful sub-ohm kits to buy larger quantities of juice and customise the nicotine strength. It's a bit more complex than simply buying 10ml bottles, so these e-liquid flavours are more for vapers who want a more hands-on approach.

Some use shortfill e-liquid to vape without nicotine, and they can be a great way to give you control if you’re trying to reduce your dependence. Simply put less of a nic shot into your shortfill to gradually wean yourself away from nicotine.

What is E-Liquid Made of?

Most e-liquids are made using four main ingredients:
1. Propylene Glycol (PG): This synthetic organic compound is used as a food additive. In e-liquids, this component contains the flavour and creates the throat hit.
2. Vegetable Glycerin (VG): Also known as Glycerol, VG is a natural compound derived from vegetable oils. It creates dense vapour clouds and contributes to the overall sweetness of the e-liquid.
3. Flavourings: These food-grade flavourings give vape juices unique flavour profiles.
4. Nicotine: Nicotine is the optional extra for e-liquids. Freebase nicotine is your standard nicotine-rich e-liquid. Nic salt e-liquid contains larger amounts of nicotine, so it tends to be the preferred option for people who have just quit smoking.

On e-liquid bottles, you'll find a ratio, like 50/50 - the PG/VG ratio. A 50/50 juice is often considered the perfect balance of these two main elements and works perfectly with most pod devices and refillable vape kits. How Long Does E-Liquid Last?

Whether you choose cheap e-liquid or the more premium variety, how long e-liquids last depends on your vape style. If you're a frequent user, you'll go through vape juices much faster than someone who only uses a pod kit a few times throughout the day. The device you use, its power setting, and even your own breathing pattern, all play a part. A sealed bottle can last for a couple of years. However, we recommend consuming it once opened within a few months to ensure the flavour still packs a punch.

How Many Puffs in a 10ml E-Liquid?

How long a 10ml bottle of e-liquid lasts depends on how frequently you use it and how deeply you inhale. However, a 10ml bottle should give you around 3,000 puffs as a rough guide. This is why, with the best e-liquid flavours, you may want to purchase more than 10ml at a time - to ensure you have enough of your favourite flavour!

How to Open an E-Liquid Bottle

Vape juices can sometimes be tricky to get into, largely because they involve doing two things simultaneously. This is partly so you don’t have to worry about kids being able to open them. To open an e-liquid bottle, you push firmly down on the cap as you twist it anti-clockwise.
