There is a comprehensive user manual, including troubleshooting sections supplied with the Ploom X Advanced Starter Kit, but if you don't have this to hand, here's a helpful guide explaining everything you need to know, including set-up and maintenance of your device.
First-time use
1. Open the box and ensure all contents are present:
- Ploom X Advanced device
- Cleaning brush
- USB charging cable
- User manual
- Warranty card.
2. Charge the device using the provided USB cable
Connect the supplied cable to a power source and connect the other end to the device. The LED light will blink while charging and turn solid when fully charged.
3. Slide open the top cover and insert an EVO tobacco stick into the device
The stick should be fully inserted until it clicks into place. Ensure that the airflow holes below the filter are visible.
4. Press and hold the button on the device for 2 seconds to turn it on
The button is discreetly hidden behind the magnetic front panel. Gently pressing the middle of the panel activates the ON/OFF function. The LED light will turn green, and a vibration alert will trigger when it is ready for use.
5. Inhale gently from the mouthpiece of the device
6. The device will heat the tobacco stick automatically to release the flavour and nicotine.
7. A Ploom X session lasts for around 5 minutes
You will experience a vibration when 20 seconds of the session remain and a more prolonged vibration to alert the end of the session.
8. To end a session early, remove the stick and slide the cover closed
9. When finished, remove the tobacco stick from the device
The tobacco stick may be hot. Remember to allow a couple of minutes for it to cool down before disposing of it carefully.
10. Turn off the device
Press and hold the button for 2 seconds.
Evo Tobacco sticks
EVO sticks look and feel like tiny cigarettes, each with a soft filter tip. Similarly to traditional cigarettes, they are packaged in a cardboard box of 20, with a pull-out foil surround.
Your Ploom device uses patented Heatflow™ technology to gently heat a compatible EVO stick with minimal charring but no burning. The temperature reached is not high enough to cause combustion, and therefore, no smoke, tar, or ash is produced, only a nicotine-infused vapour that gives an authentic tobacco taste.
EVO tobacco sticks contain specially formulated ActivBlend™ tobacco, a blend of both micro-ground and fine-cut high-quality tobacco. Very different to the tobacco contained in cigarettes.
When beginning a session, gently inserting an EVO stick up to the printed line will ensure the best experience. There are 4 grips inside the Ploom X Advanced chamber to hold the EVO stick securely in place when inserted correctly.
One EVO stick should last for the entire duration of one 5-minute session; during this time, you can take as many puffs as you wish. Depending on the length and intensity of your inhalation, the EVO stick may occasionally only last for part of the session. If the taste becomes stale, it is time to end your session early. During a session, your EVO stick may become warm; you should wait for the device to cool fully before removing and disposing of your EVO stick.
Charging the Ploom X Advanced device
Charging your device is simple; we recommend that only genuine charging cables (supplied) are used for safety. Keep your battery level topped up to provide the best experience.
- Plug your Ploom X Advanced in using the USB cable and adaptor provided.
- A full charge, from empty to full, takes just 90 minutes.
- Charging progress is displayed on the LED strip. When fully lit up, it means your device is almost ready.
- Once your battery is fully charged, the LED strip lights will turn off.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning your Ploom X Advanced kit is straightforward, and we recommend that you do so regularly to deliver the best taste and sensation from every session.
- Use only the provided cleaning stick to clean your device.
- Insert and then gently rotate the cleaning stick in a circular manner to clean both the heating blade and the inside chamber of your Ploom X Advanced kit.
- Do not use water or chemicals to clean the device.
- Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use.
Safety Precautions
- Do not use the device while charging.
- Keep the device away from children and pets.
- Do not use the device if it is damaged or malfunctioning.
- Do not modify the device in any way.
- Do not use the device with any tobacco products other than the Ploom EVO tobacco sticks.
