This year's chart includes vapes from established brands such as Elf Bar, Lost Mary, SKE and Elux, as well as devices from new faces like Vape Gold, Kiwi and Vapengin. Read on to find out who made our top 10.
What trends have we seen this year at Vapourcore?
It has been a fast-moving year for disposables again, with plenty of change and innovation across the board. As we saw in previous years, leading brands brought out new and updated versions of their products, whilst, simultaneously, there was a whole host of releases from newcomer brands.
New shapes and colours
In 2023, we saw a heightened interest in funky shapes and non-standard designs, and a move away from more traditional vape pen device shapes. There were elegant, modern pastel colours used in ranges like Geek Bar's Meloso, gold-bar-themed devices from Vape Gold, and even spaceship-themed designs available from relative newcomer Vapengin.
New e-liquid flavours
A slew of super-complex multi-fruit e-liquid blends were launched this year, including the rather unusual sounding Pina Kiwi Lemonade flavour in the Lost Mary BM600S range, which blends Pineapple, Coconut, Kiwi and a citrus Lemonade.
The Strawberry Raspberry Cherry flavours from Elf Bar and Vapengin, and the Cherry Peach Lemonade flavour found in the Bloody Mary BM600s were also quite popular.
However, these complex multi-fruit flavours were less successful overall than we expected, selling less than the original single-note recipes did in previous years.
To the delight of vapers with a sweet tooth, we've seen many new sweet, fizzy drink and dessert-based flavours emerge in 2023, giving you plenty to choose from.
New Tech
Technological advances have been vast this year, especially in the manufacturing of coils, where we saw the launch of the new FEELM Max and QUAQ Mesh coils.
For these, new (and better) materials were introduced, including ceramic as an alternative to cotton used in the core of 'old style' coils.
We also saw amended airflow systems and leak-free compartments implemented to heat e-liquid more efficiently and improve flavour and performance.
Environmental issues
This year, there has been a growing interest among disposable vape brands to reduce their use of plastic. This is evident in the packaging of vape devices, with many now being supplied in easier-to-recycle materials and in smaller pack sizes.
In addition, manufacturers are using more environmentally friendly materials for the body of devices, including cardboard, food-grade and previously recycled materials, as we saw in the ANDS Slix and Riot Squad QBAR vape ranges.
This move towards sustainability is definitely a positive development for the vaping industry, and is long overdue.
Pricing
The proliferation of multi-buy offers has exploded this year. Most popular and premium-priced disposable vape brands now offer discounts for those who buy in volume, whereas, in previous years, offers were much more limited.
Many top-selling flavours are now available in bulk-buy 10-pack cartons, providing even greater savings.
